The Christ the King Baseball program sponsors and supports organized baseball teams that are part of the Fort Smith Church League Baseball Organization. Kids 5-15 years of age are eligible to participate and we average 100-130 participants each year. All teams are USSSA sanctioned.

The baseball program is volunteer driven and donation supported. All coaches and volunteers must be over the age of 18 and VIRTUS trained. Each player is given a uniform that is his or hers to keep. Equipment expenses and practice facility improvements are accomplished through donations to the program.

The baseball program has a batting cage that is located on school property. The cage provides a tool for teaching and improving hitting skills. An "L Screen" is available to protect pitchers and a pitching machine is available for batting practice. We also have an indoor pitching machine for use when the weather is not conducive for practicing outdoors.

Important Events:

• Baseball Signups - Signup day occurs in late January. Watch your church bulletin, school Friday folder and this web site for information once date is set.
• Practice schedules - The head coach of each individual team sets practice schedules.
• Game Schedules - Fort Smith Church League determines game schedules. Games usually start around the end of April and the season is over around July 4.
• Team Swim Party - For the past two years, donations to the program have made it possible to reserve the Alma Water Park for an end-of-the-year Christ the King team swim party for all CTK teams and their families. We hope to continue this annual event.
• Baseball Sunday - Players wear their team jerseys to Sunday Mass and then meet in the parish center for refreshments and a slideshow set to music that includes action photos of each and every Christ the King player taken during games throughout the baseball season.

The Christ the King Baseball program relies on donations to purchase equipment for our teams and improve our practice facilities as well as helping pay for events such as the swim party and Baseball Sunday. Generous donations have also been responsible for improvements such as the concrete pad in the batting cage, "L" screens in the cage for pitcher protection during batting practice and soft toss practice nets.
